Having in mind the great many privileges we Both and our family have experienced, our education, careers, and good health, we cannot resist a feeling it is time for us to “Give it back”.
On behalf of my brother Tomek and myself, I am proud to announce the inception of The PLEWA Family Foundation (PFF) for Child Development and Education. We do hope you and all kind-hearted people will join us in our mission of “giving it back.” Although our initial activities will be focused on helping children in African countries, we are aware the equally urgent help is needed and expected in many other regions of the World. We hope that with your help we will expand our activities to help children struggling in other poor and forgotten corners of our world.
The principle of humanity is simple: coming to the aid of other humans in need. The calls of injustice and inequality are heard across the globe. These cannot and must not be met with indifference. To hear one’s fellow person, to recognize its suffering, is to answer the call to help improving the lives of those less fortunate, vulnerable, and suffering. Therein lies the Foundation’s mission.
With this heart touching cause and to help eliminate underprivileged childhood in the countries of Africa and to provide them with the appropriate education, the Plewa brothers, Jacek and Tomek, are proud to announce the inception of The PLEWA Family Foundation (PFF) for Child Development and Education.
In 2008, the brothers travelled to Tanzania and were offered a glimpse into the immense difficulties and the day to day challenges of life faced by children across Africa. The stark contrast between their own childhood and of vulnerable African children became a source of their deep desire to help African children grow and learn in equally safe and secure environment. This is without a doubt a formidable, and the brothers decided to establish a foundation to provide a long-term, sustained support for their efforts and ensure measurable and lasting improvements. The Foundation aims to limit and ultimately eliminate human suffering by working in the area of elementary education as it recognizes knowledge as the key to a better life. The Foundation will initiate, develop, and directly support charitable activities aimed at stimulating and supporting the growth and education of children living in poor and isolated regions of Africa.
The Plewa Family Foundation will be registered as a charitable organization in Poland, our home country, from where our roots originate The Foundation will initially be funded by the Plewa family. The Foundation invites those who sympathize with its goals to volunteer their time and grow support for the Foundation mission, and directly contribute to and participate in Foundation activities.
